Not for what you pay

Control4 is a expensive system when you control and entire home. It does a great job of that. However, each time there is an app update certain parts of the app dont work. For an example; we use Slacker Radio to stream music-since the update the Slacker streaming function doesnt work. There are always bugs after a release. I except more from Control4! Update: taking another star away. You can no longer view cameras that are part of your system. This app is the worst. Control4, pls hire an app developer! In addition, if you are a Spotify use you will not be able to connect to your account through this app. Worthless!

Doesnt work

Latest software doesnt work on iPhone 6. 8.1 software. Says device unauthorized and wont allow you to "login" -C4 programmer

New version 2.8.1.679 denies access

New version pushed to all my iDevices today and requires me to enter my login email and password - but doesn’t let me enter either. All I see is the spinning disk/design. I now have no access except from my remotes - which bites! This needs to be fixed asap.

Crashes and wont load

Just like the last version, flawed.

Update no longer available

I cannot update, it says app is no longer available, I accidentally deleted the app to see if I could download the update and I ended up without the app, please fix it ASAP!! I need to control my home.

No Workie

Control 4 update removed the app from my iPad! Dont buy Control4 products... Over priced, no customer service, and it doesnt work 1/2 the time!

Crashed since update

I am surprised that control 4 hasnt put up a patch to fix this. Terrible customer service at this point.

Lifelong pocketbook commitment

Probably one of my biggest purchase regrets Ive ever made is Control4. Spent $48k on my system only to be locked in for a lifelong commitment of fees to C4 and their dealers. Yearly subscription fees and any bugs or issues requires you to pay a dealer to log in and fix. Want to update the software, then open your wallet, because those costs too. Bought a new TV, well that costs to add. I use to be able to use this app to control my house, while in my house, now it says I need a subscription. Fail!

Works great

It works great, and eliminates the need for port forwarding, which keeps my network more secure. Also super easy to add a new iPad or phone when I get a new device.

To sum in a word. "Terrible"

Ever since last update I cannot raise or lower volume or turn my theater off with the App. Called Control4 and they gave me run around saying it was my phone. Funny I have iPhone and two iPads and problem is the same. This is my third Control4 controller. The installer said it got hit with power surge twice despite my $1000 surge protector indicating otherwise. I think its just a POS. In sum stay away. Sorry I ever gave up Crestron because I was beholden to programmers. At least it worked.

gets better with every version

Sure there have been a few hiccups, but overall it has been very dependable and it works no matter where Im traveling. And you absolutely do NOT have to pay the annual fee if you only want to control your system while at home. Some of these reviews are apparently from people who have been misinformed or mistreated by their dealers.

Great

This app is so much better than the old app. The new version of this app is much cleaner and sharper than the white control4 app. Thanking the control4 people for the new update to this app.

Please add "create playlist" feature

Please please add playlist management via the app!!! I really wish I could create playlists from my apple devices via the control4 app!!!

Could be a very convenient app... If it ever worked!! Crashes every time without fail. Very unimpressed..

Latest Control 4 Update not working properly

I had a Control 4 system installed in my house early last year and I use the Control 4 remotes as well as my iPhone and iPads to control my systems, including TVs, stereo, six Sonos devices, etc. Prior to the last update, controlling my Sonos and stereo equipment with my iPhone or iPad was quick and smooth. I am using a Control 4 Matrix system and amplifier to control them. Currently, when I try to control my twelve music zones and Sonos with my iPhone or iPad, it takes from about 2-5 minutes to initiate each command for zone and music source selection. Even when I just try to turn off a zone, it takes what seems like forever. Previously, these command responded immediately. There is nothing wrong with my house wi-fi and network and have a great connection throughout my house. Is there something wrong with the latest update version that would cause this situation. Currently, is almost impossible to use the Control 4 system with my iPone or iPad, rendering this Control 4 system almost useless for my music applications. HELP! Any input or suggestions would be much appreciated. Frustrated

Interface is dated, no apple homekit integration

Get with the program and create a high information modern interface and get moving with integration with apple and homekit. New owner of your product and not thrilled with usability, your concepts and methods are dated and lacking.

Very unstable

The latest 2.8.1 update made everything much slower for me. Reinstalled the app - no difference. Constant disconnects and spinning wheel. Seems like C4 programmers have some serious QA issues.

SYSTEM IS TERRIBLE. WHEN I TRY TO PRESS ANYTHING IT PRESSES IT THINKS I PRESSED TWICE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE DO NOT GET CONTROL4
